I got all my paperwork and everything finished today!
My friend and I are joining together and going split-op this summer. We are going to MEPs in Columbus, Ohio thursday and friday to make everything completely final, then we will start training and such til we go to basic.
I cant wait to go to bct, I know its gonna be fun as heck haha. Oh, and we are going to basic at Fort Sill, OK for 13Bravo.

Congratulations and good luck. Basic is hard, but it actually can be a lot of fun (no laugh needed, it really is).
Some words of advice from a guy who has been there (albeit, about 17 years ago):
-Always look straight ahead, don't let your eyes wander even for a second
-Get up 15min before they wake you up, you will really need the extra time to get ready for the day (but whatever you do, don't turn on any lights)
-Don't take anything the Drill Sergeants say personally. They aren't mean, they are trying to teach you fast. Every Drill Sergeant but one who I've met outside of a training environment were some of the nicest and coolest people I've ever met.
-Be sure you aren't too slow getting anywhere. Ignore the advice some people give you to not draw attention. If you can stand out in a positive way, do so. Sure, it may mean some extra attention, but eventually the Drill Sergeants will know everyone anyway (probably in less than a week). It is better to be known for something positive than something negative.
-Have the right mindset and much of it will actually be fun
-No matter how funny it is, and much of it is, don't laugh at something the drill sergeants say. Remember, they are trying to keep your attention and so they can be pretty entertaining, but they also want to be intimidating so they won't deal lightly with a laugh (even if they actually appreciate it).
-Whatever you excel at (whether it is PT, CPR/first aid, map reading, achedemics, etc), help those who aren't as good- be a team player
-Be ready to be a sponge- try to learn as much as you can. Bring a notebook and pen, and read your sourcebook (do they still call it that?) every chance you get.
-Prepare before you get there- do your push-ups and sit-ups, run, and walk/hike with a backpack with 40-60LBS in it (if you don't hike on a trail and you don't want to look strange, walking on a college campus with a backpack full of books will blend in pretty well and help you with conditioning).

Thank you both very much for the advice, I know it will help greatly!! Im currently at school waiting for 1300 to roll around so we can head up to MEPS to take my ASVAB...
Im a little nervous about that, but Im just going focus on keeping calm and paying very close attention to detail, becuse I know (well from the practice ASVAB

Thank you both very much for your advice!! I know it will help greatly. Everyone said to not stand out because the DS's would get mad/whatever, but Ive had 4 years of pre-military experience (2yrs C.A.P. and 2yrs JROTC). So standing out around others that may not know as much in drill and such just kinda comes natural I guess. (no bragging intended at all)
Im currently at school waitin for 1300 to roll around so we can head up to MEPS to take the ASVAB, which I wont deny I am a little nervous. Im just going to keep calm and think positive, and pay close attention to detail. Because I know (well from the practice ASVAB) that some of the questions can be tricky/confusing until you re-read them a second time!
Thanks again and I will be sure to update eveyone on how it went come Friday!
