Hello.. So I checked out the Go Guard site pretty much up and down and found the RSP (Recruit Sustainment Program). How do you go to this program and how long is the program..? It sounds pretty interesting me.. I'd like to do it. If anyone knows, please let me know by either leaving a reply on here or email me at
popashu@aol.com thank you very much...

I too found out about the RSP through the website. I went and asked my recruiter about it. I live in Johnson City, TN and we have a local guard unit here. Basically my unit meets one weekend a month, after one goes to MEPS they are put into the RSP until they ship to basic. Even if you have not been to MEPS you can still go to a drill weekend as a vistor, I did just last week. I guess the best thing to tell you is to just ask your local recruiter and get started in it.
They work with you on PT and knowing the stuff that you will have to learn in basic.

RSP is for people that haven't been to Basic and AIT yet. It's geared for people who have joined, but have no training. They do weapons training, A LOT of PT, and have a chance to adapt to being in the military before they're thrown into it in Basic. It also gives the Guard to work out any kinks before they ship, and ensure they're well taken care of.

I have just finished a year as RSP cadre (instructor). The RSP was created to
teach new soldiers things the will need to know for basic training and beyond.
It gives you a jump start on the the other privates in training, who didn;t go through anything similar.
