um if you were awol then did you what kind of a discharge did you get when they dicharged you? um if you have a dishonorable then i know that it would affect getting a job at certain places if you put it on your applications. like if you go to get a job and it might give you a lesser chance of getting it. i recently talked to someone over the phone and i was told that if you got a general dicharge then you tried to join the army or arng then you could but all the bonuses that they offer and the tuition assistance you wouldn't be eligable for. if its an honorable dicharge though you should be fine in getting in and your credit should be fine. you might be better double checking with someone else on it though. just to be sure. if you don't mind me asking. why were you awol?

The key will be at what point in your training were you discharged. If your discharge is uncharacterized, you're good to go to get into the guard with a waiver, and once you're in the guard, your military history resets itself. an RE4 is no problem, the kicker is the narrative reason and the 3 letter code on your 214. Most likely, you can enlist, but you won't be eligible for any SRIP bonuses, but you're still eligible for Fed TA, Tuition reimbursement, and the GI Bill.

You need to check the character of service on your DD 214. If it states clearly "Other Than Honorable" then you are ineligible for enlistment since there is no waiver authorized for an OTH discharge.
