Hey can anyone help me? i was wondering Can i get a waiver for tourettes syndrome? i don't have it but apparently the doctors up at the Meps think i do i want to Join the military badly i have been trying since i was 17 and i'm now 20 a national guard recruiter said that all i need to do to get into the guard is go to another doctor to get it saying that i don't have it which i don't i tried joining the Army last year and i asked them if i can get the waiver but they must be scared of telling me or something because i don't get any response from them i am also thinking about joining the marines too if this doesn't work out, so if anyone can help or has any advice please help and again i do not have tourettes i know because i've been checked out by soo many doctors over the years and my friends and family would notice if i had it too and tell me

Do what the Guard recruiter told you to do. Go to your doctor and have them write you a letter on their letterhead stating that you do not have it. Now the question I have is that it is a very noticable syndrome. I am not a doctor but what I know of it is that there is uncontrolable twitching and or uncontrolable swearing. I am really supprised that MEPS said you had it when you say you do not have any of the classic symtoms. They would see it right away.
