Hey im kendra im 17 and i am a Junior in High School in Monett, Missouri. I have thought about joining the Army National Guard for a while now but i never had enough information on it to know for sure. I have recently been recieving alot of information through the mail and it has helped me to come down to my decision that im strongly considering joining after High School. I am planning on talking with one of the recruiters here in town soon. I would like to have some comments from other people who have or are going to join to help think of some good ideas for my future if you have any tips or suggestions for me on what i need to do please send me messages. Thank you:)

Kendra,

You don't have to necessarily wait until you graduate from High School to enlist. Actually, it would probably benefit you more if you do enlist while in High School. Since you most likely won't be able to attend Basic Training until the summer break, you'll be attending the RSP in your state (the RSP is like a pre-basic where they teach basic skills in soldiering and prepare you to attend Basic Training). You will then return to school to finish your senior year and then go for your AIT (job training). An added benefit in enlisting while in school is that you'll be credited with time in service while in High School and can complete up to a year and a half of your total enlistment time. It wouldn't hurt to find out from a local recruiter how enlisting while inHigh School can be of benefit to you.

You could join now and do basic training between your junior and senior year. Thats what I did. You could tell your friends about it maybe they'll want to join. Or if you go to RSP you could teach others what you know so they won't look so stupid. I'm in RSP it really helps.

HI! Okay my name is Heather and I am a Junior in High School in Indian Land South Carolina, and I just wanted to tell you to go for it! the best thing to do is to go ahead and join now insted of waiting. I did and the money and benifits really come in handy. you just don't know until you recieve it. All I can say to you is to go ahead and join. but it's up to you. but what ever your decision, GOOD LUCK.

If you join now, you can earn around $5,000. for drilling one weekend per month during your senior year of high school. You'll be a soldier during your Senior year. NOT TOO SHABBY !

I just joined the vermont national guard , they pay me around 200 bucks a weekend every month. And before you go to basic they get you ready for basic. Plus not to mention the 20,000 bonus after you sign . You get 10,000 after Ait training and the other 10 on the 3 year anniversary of your enlistment. But the 10 grand is taxed . I did ****** on the asvab and i still can be a mp since i got a 108 in the ST section. But i got a 60 on the asvab
