Bonuses for joining the Guard

I have been reading about the bonuses for people with non-prior service, but have not seen any incentives for those who have served in one of the branches of the armed forces.

There are also incentives for prior service enlistments. Prior Service Enlistment Bonuses (PSEB) is being offered to PS soldiers who have completed their MSO (military statutory obligation) and have no more than 16 years of sevice at the time of enlistment.

PS soldiers must:
- be MOSQ'ed for the position for which enlisting
- enlist into a vacant/valid position, or against a projected vacancy
- have received an honorable discharge upon completion of prior service
- enlist for 6 years for the $15,000 bonus
- enlist for 3 years for the $7,500 bonus

PS soldiers who have time remaining on their MSO (military statutory obligation) can receive the Affilition Bonus (AF) as long as they meet the following criteria:
- have less than 20 years of military service
- affiliate with the ARNG in an active drilling status
- are MOSQ'ed for the MOS for which enlisting or are awarded the MOS using the DoD Occupational Conversion Index at the time of affiliation
- affiliate in a vacant/valid position or against a projected vacancy
- separated from an Active Component with an RE code of 1, 2 or 3 and one of the following Separation Program Designators (KBK, KCA, KCB, KCC, KCF, KDM, MBK, MCA, MCB, MCC, MCF, MDM, JCC or LCC)
- enlist for 6 years for the $20,000 affiliation bonus
- enlist for 3 years for the $10,000 affiliation bonus

This should give you a fairly good idea about the enlistment bonuses offered to prior service soldiers. I hope it is helpful.

nvm just needed to read farther... re code of 1,2,3 and alpha codes... what if the alpha code isn't on the list?

edit: i meant alpha codes as in the Separation Program Designators (KBK, KCA, KCB, KCC, KCF, KDM, MBK, MCA, MCB, MCC, MCF, MDM, JCC or LCC) (they are all letters hence the term alpha [derived from alpha numeric])

In a case of an RE-1A, 2A or 3A, those codes were used for soldiers separated prior to the effective date of the new regulation and their eligibility is dependent upon the narrative reason for separation as long as they have one of the SPD's (Separation Program Designator) listed above.
