View Full Version : Held up by paperwork... is that normal?

I decided that I wanted to go in active under MOS 15B in November of last year. I got a 93 on my ASVAB, have 113 college credits, am 23 years old and, aside from a few extra pounds, am perfectly healthy. In late Nov/early Dec. I was scheduled to physical, but was unable to go as a result of my eczema (a minor skin condition that I've had since birth). It's REALLY not a big deal... I just have to take a little more care of my skin than most people. Appearantly, I need some sort of waiver, which we put in for. It's been about a month and a half and it STILL hasn't gone through. I've pretty much got the rest of my life revolved around when I can go to BTC, AIT and OCS... and I'm getting tired of not knowing what the **** is going on. Is it normal for paperwork to get held up this long? I've called my recruiter many times, but all he says is to hurry up and wait, and he'll call me when he finds out. Anybody have any suggestions to speed things up a bit? I'm a pretty patient guy, but this is getting to be ridiculous!

If you've given your Recruiter several opportunities, then you may wish to ask his supervisor. Medical waivers usually come back within days, whether approved or disapproved.

It's common. Be prepared for some "system crashes" at MEPS.
Get on your recruiter about it. But don't be a jerk.
It's also in his best interest to get you in ASAP.

Thanks! I guess I'll just keep checkin' in from time to time. Supposedly they got the wrong social on one of the forms and re-submitted. Hopefully I'll hear back pretty soon.
