I was hoping someone could help me out. I'm married with 2 kids and I am the one who supports the family financially. What happens when I go to BCT/AIT? Appreciate any help...

As far as I know, you get active duty pay while you're away at BCT and AIT.

Yes, you get active duty pay while you're away to basic training and AIT. Your money will be directly deposited into your bank account. As long as your wife has access to that account, she will still be able to pay the bills.

correction. you should get standard active duty pay, seperation pay and bha (basic housing allowance). make sure your recruiter has a copy of your monthly mortgage statement or apartment rental.

If I only knew then what I know now I would total all my bills for the duration of my BCT / AIT and get a loan. The military pays well but sometimes they mess up. Which could leave you and your family in a bind. Good luck, I hope you have been doing some PT!!!!!
