Is 25B a critical MOS for PA? I am a prior-service 19D, but would like to re-class to 25B if possible.
I have served 7 years AD, got out, and later joined the Army Reserve with an MOS of 92S. Served that time 4 years, of which 15 months were spent in Iraq. ETS was Sept 2004. My DD214 that I received when demobilizing doesn't show a code and I've recently sent a request for another copy. I'm sure it's R1. My AD DD214 has a code of R1. I had no history of disciplinary or medical situations and never have any problems. E-6 was last rank held. GT 126, and others were in the 130 area. Scored 102 on DLAB. Well within height/ weight guidelines (5'8", 153lbs, 41 years old.
Am I eligible to join, get a bonus, and re-class?
Last question; what's the possibility of joining and then becoming a recruiter/retention NCO?
Thanks

There is no bonus MOS for Prior Service. You can get a $15,000 bonus for comming back in in the same MOS or get a $15,000 bonus to reclass if you choose one of the 30 critical skills and get MOSQed within 2 years. But you can change your MOS if you wish.
You will not have a 214 from the Reserves. All you will have is an order showing that you have left the Reserves. The big opsticle I see is E-6. If you were willing to possibly willing to come back in as an E-5 and go for promotion in a diffrent MOS or your same then it would be alot easier. No you can't just join to be a recruiter, but you can apply for the job (its an AGR job) right after you come in and you might get picked up. There are alot of slots for recruiters coming open soon from what I am hearing.
Give me a call and we can talk about it more.

So that says it all i guess. I have an RE-4 from the Army 1995. What are the chances of getting back in 13B or anything really?
Thanks for your time SSg. Scott

a RE 4 from the army is 0 possibility, you can request to get it changed but you probably would have to get your narrative reason for discharged changed also.

Its Like Andrew said. You will have to apply to have your RE code changed. You will have to contact the records repository in ST Louis to get the info on trying to get it changed. Its a very long process and it may not be changed. it is not a sure thing.
The narrative reason is another thing we look at. That could be a bigger deal killer than anything else.
