Hey everyone, I am 17 and really interested into going in the guard, I have contacted my recruitor and setting up the day to meet, but i got to thinking i know i have a speech problem called silent blocks where i kinda choke and nothing comes out but i do pretty well under pressure and have been to JROTC summer camp and was squad leader and had to talk...it jus took some time, anyone know if this is going to hurt me real bad or what

you will be fine just tell the drill sergeants about that when u go to basic they will prob make fun of you, but they will do that to break you down, but tell them just so that they know.

I know that severe stuttering is a medical disqualifier at the MEPS physical. The severity of your speech problem will determine if you are qualified to enlist in the National Guard. The only way to tell for sure is to take the physical and see if the MEPS doctors allow you to pass.
