My mother wants me to attend college, and i figure that at least a bachelor's degree wouldent be a bad idea for my future either. Know I know i want to join the Gaurd, and since it is part time, and the tuition assistance benifts, i figured i could attend after basic and AIT. Well I want my MOS to be infantry, and since Gaurd infantry is serving in Iraiq now im not sure that starting college then would be a good idea. Should i wait till i get out of the militay (whenever that may be..) and use the GI bill, or try to go to school after my training, since the Gaurd is part time?

2 things to conside, the new College First program which allows you to actively attend college for 2 years without worry about deployment - there is more information available from the home page of this web site.
Additionally there is a federal program that if you are in school, supports you should you have to meet military obligations and cannot finish the term of school you are attending - this program ensures that you can recoup your expenses for school for that term. Also keep in mind that with the Tuition Assistance and GI Bill, your expenses will be minimal.
Talk to a professional recruiter about the requirements for the College First program, this may be the way to get started.
