I took the ASVAB 5 years ago when I enisted in the Coast Guard. I am now in contact with a recruiter and he told me my scores were still good, that I don't have to retake it, and I am qualified to do pretty much any job? I got a 63, but don't know my line scores. Is this true?

HOW LONG ARE ASVAB SCORES VALID?
ASVAB scores are good for two years.
CAN I USE MY STUDENT ASVAB RESULTS FOR PROCESSING AT MEPS?
If you are 17-years-of-age, or older, you may process at the MEPS using Student ASVAB scores from a test you took in high school when you were 16-years-old, provided you were a junior or senior when you took the test and the test has not expired (two years from the date of test).
Sophomore tests are invalid for enlistment purposes regardless of age on the date of the test.

I do remember reading once that if you are in the military, the only reason you would need to retake it after the two years if you are changing MOS. Now if I could just remember where I saw that.... So maybe if your MOS is basically the same, it is true you wouldnt need to retake. But if they are not simular, i'd bet on you needing to retake. I'll see if I come up with that info, but highly unlikely i'll find it again.

Does mention in their forums that ANY prior branch...as long as they are able to populate the score, you dont need to retake.... not a re****ble source, (as it could be anyone saying it) but probably accurate
I'm assuming my first post was regarding someone with no prior service.
