so while the website cites that you make roughly 1200 a month as an E-1 per month, I am assuming that is only active duty and you earn much less otherwise, anyone know the ballpark figure?

An E-1 makes roughly $169.80 per drill weekend. That is before taxes, and before any life insurance premiums are taken out.
