Greetings! I just considered joining with the ARNG (went to MEPS, but they need a documentation from a doctor..going back in the next week or so) and I believe that I am a bit confused. My recruiter told me that the Guard provides 100% tuition assistance for "ALL" state colleges and additional funds for private colleges. However, in the Go Guard Educational manual, it says differently. Are there any other Georgia and/or Alabama recruiters that I can speak with? Can I switch recruiters? Because of inaccuricies (sp?) on his part, I am now considering not doing it. I am interested in Auburn Univ. or Spelman College in Atlanta. I have signed under the "College First" program and I plan on doing ROTC...trying to leave in mid January for BT/AIT..Thanks!

you can always call 1-800-Go-Guard. If they can't help, they will direct you to a recruiter in your area that is different from who you have. Here is a link the the benefits for GA: http://1800goguard.com/GA/index.php

Looks, like GA will pay 100% tuition , up to $1,819 a semester, as long as you maintain a C average and you don't already have a BS degree in something. I bet private school would be way above $1819 a semester. However, if that school has ROTC that is another way to maybe get everything paid for.

You can get a three year ROTC scholarship through the National Guard -- no tuition cap. Speak with Georgia's OSM, MAJ Ed Laster, at (678) 569-5266, or Alabama's CPT Michelle Alexander, at (334) 271-7420.

If you already have a BS degree does the GANG not offer tuition assistance for masters? If thats the case i have been totally mislead. any help would be appreciated.
