I have a re-3 honorable 4 yrs active USCG 87-91
in reserves to 97 been out since
I'm 38 in good shape but dont know i'm in the shape to go threw basic again
I'm a proffesional truck driver for the last 4 years would like to finish my military retirement before its to late any suggestions???

You will not have to go through basic training again if you have already completed it (even if it was through the coast guard)

I have been told because it's been over 8 years i would have to go back to basic. Can be clear on this matter?

And the Coast guard was just as tough as any other boot camp trust me.

Humm thats intresting, I was just told by a recuiter that I would have to attend a 3 week boot refreasher..I am prior Navy 4 yrs honorable discharge in 04, I am thinking of joining after my son turns one. I also would like to take advantage of the retirement, possibly go full time after I am done growing my family. I am not looking forward to boot again as I **** at marching...no rythym and short legs.

You have to go through the Warrior Transition Course. The course is about four weeks long at White Sands, New Mexico. With in processing, you will probably be gone for about six weeks.
