I have an odd question that hopefully a recuiter can help me with. It's kind of embarassing. I'm larger chested and exercise isn't helping to reverse that situation. I was considering getting a breast reduction due to the back pain it's causing me. Will this be a problem enlisting? Or would I need a waiver saying it had been 3 months since, or whatever the required timespan? If I got it done, I would most likely not have any pain, so it would be for the better. But if it will hurt my chances with enlistment, I would consider other options. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I know that any type of surgery causes your enlistment process to slow down because the doctors at MEPS are going to want to see if there are any after effects of the surgery before they allow you to enlist. I don't know how long the waiting period for that would be though. Get ahold of your recruiter and let them know what your planning to do and have them call Dial-A-Medic, they should know what that is, and have them ask the doctor what adverse actions that will take on your enlistment process. Good Luck.

Waiver issues will be the same as any other medical surgery. It needs to be a certain length of time as well as an unconditional release. You will need all medical documentation. It shouldn’t affect you if you are still going to be physically applicable and completely cleared from the physician
