The Guard does not have a Delayed Entry Program (DEP) like the Active Duty components do. When you pass an ASVAB and Physical, and enlist, you are in the Guard even if you have not gone to BCT yet. The RSP is sometimes (mistakenly) called the DEP.
In the Active Duty, when you enlist, and have not started basic training yet, you are enrolled in the Delayed entry program. This means you are not getting paid, and your time does not count toward your enlistment contract time.
In the Guard, as soon as you enlist, you start attending drills (RSP) and get paid for it. The time you spend in RSP also counts toward the total time of your enlistment contract.
