Hello there! I have been think about joining the US Army for some time as I feel its my best option to get the education, training, and experience I need to better my life for my child. I'm a 26 year old single mother. Knowing that single parents cannot join the US Army I started looking at the National Guard instead. I've done a lot of research, unfortunately there seems to be a ton of conflicting information out there so I thought I would see if anyone here could help me out. I've tried several times to get a hold of my local recruiter but no luck :( So here goes... I read that single parents can join the Guard provided they obtain a waiver? Also read that to become a Warrant Officer Aviator you have to first join the guard then apply for WOCS? And that flight training was shortened to 9 months due to high demand but could be 20-24 months? And that after training you must serve 3 years active duty? I have a to more but that's to start. If anyone out there can educate me i would be highly appreciative. I'd love to join the Guard ASAP!!
Thanks!
Thanks!
