I was told that I was not eligable for an Enlistment Bonus because I was given a $1500 dollar bonus when I went from active to guard. I have been out since August of 2004, am I eligable for a bonus?

Can anyone help me with this? I was told about a year ago that I would have to do a one year enlistment and then reenlist for a Bonus? Is there any truth to this? I am interested in returning to the guard but want some strait answers before I re-up.

There is a prior service bonus that you may qualify for coming in the door. If you do not qualify for the PS bonus up front, you can join for a "try one" (one year) and then extend for the retention bonus after that first year. The RB is currently $15K for 6 year extension and $7500 for 3 year extension.

Without not having any of the specifics of your particular case, I would say that is sounds like you ARE eligible for a bonus. I would recommend talking to a recruiter in your area and find out for sure. You won't have to sign anything until you know FOR SURE what you're going to get.
