Hi:
I spoke with a local recruiter about joining. I have the following medical issues (aside from turning 40 next week):
1. ACL recon, left knee.
2. 20% VA disability (6 year active USMC - fractured nose that required multiple surgeries/cauterizations, hearing damage from small arms fire, injury to right knee).
He told me I would have to "sell" my ability to overcome my injuries to the MEPS doctors to get in, plus I need to supply my medical records for screening.
So my questions are:
1) Will my age/injuries disqualify me?
2) How do I "sell" myself to the docs?
3) Would I lose my 20%? I realize that pay will override pension, but can they take away my 20%? I'd like to keep it in case I become a broke old fart someday...:-)
Thanks,
EAO
