ill just cut to the chase, i really wanna join the guard in indiana and there are 2 things that are really messing me up

first of all i know you can take a certain amount of people with geds and i have a ged unfortunately but also i got a traffic ticket for improper lane change, i was honest and put that in the path to honour application and it says im dq'd for a pending court date? i dont have any court dates, for anything

is there any recruiter that can help me join despite the ged issue and help me resolve the ticket issue

Have you heard that you can get a few college credits and will be considered as a high school diploma holder to the military? that would solve that problem. One traffic ticket does'nt sound that bad. Have you contacted a local recruiter?

i dont have the money for college and im not eligible for the pell grant (theres a story to this, that isnt bad)
but yeah it was just a ticket but it said i was dq'd for a pending court date

also everytime i try to contact the local recruiter i get a machine, i know i should probably leave a message but all of the hate towards the ged has really gotten me down and seems like itll be a long time before i can serve but i kow theres a certain amount of ged guys that can get in so i wanna just do that

If you want in the guard you will take out a small student loan and complete 12 or 15, I forget, hours of courses. TOO EASY!!!!!! HOOAH???!!! YOU TRACKING?

if i had an income or credit that would be really easy but it seems like no one wants to help me join so ill just save the money for the legion and risk my citizenship because i dont see how theyre gonna make it so difficult for someone like me who wants to join with a GED and then whine about low amount of volunteers, theres so many others in the same position as me and i dont think its fair but what i think isnt going to change anything

i just want a recruiter that can take a GED person and wants to help me advance my life through the national guard but i guess thats not going to happen either

First a GED is not a bad thing... and yes you can talk to a local community college about financial aid, etc... So if you want to be a soldier, you should have no issue with making something happen with little in your pocket... And yes there are many people who hold GEDs in the ARNG, and many many more that hold advanced degrees from some prestigious colleges and universities.

If you have all of the documents pertaining to your traffic offense, that it is paid/restitution taken care of - than put it in a file and take it with you to your local ARNG recruiting office. In person is always better than over the phone... and if you do not have the cohones to leave a message when you call a recruiter then you can expect no calls to be returned, or answers/help to be given.

If I hear one more person talk about "the legion" and risking citizenship I will personally mail them a bacon sandwich and an energy drink to help them on thier way...

If you want it DO it, if not, then why waste any time

Well.. talking to a Community College counselor still would not be a bad deal... give you some info on what to do to try again in the future.

As to everything else - get into a recruiters office, shake hands, have a list of questions, and your traffic ticket paperwork... Forget phone messages - do the initial in person, and give a good first impression - if you can show the recruiter that you believe in yourself, then they might also - and that can open a door to get started...

Who is whining for lack of volunteers, people are being turned away. Clearly there is no lack of volunteers.

Back to the issue at hand, if joining is something you really want to do, you could find a way to get it done. If you did fairly well in school perhaps you could try to CLEP out of classes to get some college credits. Thats way cheaper then actually taking classes.

And as for the "not fair", I agree its ridiculous that you can join without a GED, yet you're unable to join with one. But thats just the way it is, Life is not fair, but we just have to deal with it.

You don't need long credit history to take out a college student loan. If you are making little to nothing you make want to look into stafford loans. You can file at www.fafsa.ed.gov

Too easy.

If you really want to join you'll make it happen.
