Can I join SMP during Spring semester? I'm shipping october, coming back on april so have to take summer classes after training and probably get around 15-20 units done but I don't have college credits right now. Going to contract with ROTC and trying to join SMP, I'm thinking around 40 or so credit after next year fall. Also am I allowed to contract with ROTC before it begins? Since I'm going to be back on april, that's about 4 months before ROTC even starts.

The above post is correct. Also, have you looked at your school's schedule for summer classes? 15-20 hours in a summer term is a lot of class. Twenty is pushing overload for a spring or fall term. I doubt you will be allowed to take that many hours in a summer term.

You can be part of the ROTC program but can't contract as SMP till you have 30 credits.
One thing that might be able to help credit wise is most Universities will give you some credits for Basic and AIT training. My son was at 2 Universities and both did. How many and what course they substituted for was different for both Universities.
He got 4 credits total at the university he will graduate/commission from in May.
SMP is a great way to go.
