Hello All,
Quick question about MOS Qualification. I was an Aviation Electricians Mate (E-5) in the Navy. Got out and now after four years have gone back into the Guard to do the same job, 15F Aircraft Electrician. My recruiter and RNCO are having some trouble figuring out if I need to got to AIT or if I will be awarded the MOS based on my previous experience. Any help that you guys can provide would be much appreciated.

My experiance is that once you are out for over three years they require you return to AIT, at least that was Texas NG.

I had 14 years broken time - no AIT.

I had a 19 year break but the TXARNG showed regs where if it was more than a three year break back you go. They may have waivers or accept some MOSs over others outside of that limit, I have no idea. In my case I wanted to go back to AIT anyway since I knew there were so many changes.

To the prespective soldier, I would suggest getting in contact with the G1 for your state and they can answer the question for you.
