What state are you looking to go to?

I'm in the same boat. I am an active duty CPT looking to joing the AGR in Kansas. From what I understand, the AGR jobs are so short in supply that I won't be able to go to Kansas, instead I will have to go wherever something opens up. Are there also full time reserve or guard positions separate from AGR? I just would like to stay in Kansas while still doing an Army job full time. That would be a dream come true.

Good luck getting an AGR tour with the Army Reserve!
The AGR program is designed for Traditional (part-time) Guard Soldiers to serve on active duty for a period of time. It is not well suited for active duty Soldiers looking to transition directly into AGR. It can happen, but because it's not designed to do that, you will face difficulties. It's very difficult to make a seamless transition, so prepare for a break in service of some weeks or months.
