I understand that my 4 years active duty counts towards my retirement. Now if I go in to the guard, does this mean that I only have to serve 16 years to receive my 20 year retirement at age 60?. Also,is there a mandatory retirement age in the guard?. Thought I've read through every post and didn't see anything, sorry if this has been answered before.

When you reach a total of 20 years while serving in a reserve component as an M-Day soldier (M-day is a traditional reserve soldier serving one weekend per month and two weeks per year) through a combination of active and reserve time, you are eligible for retirement. There is no minimum age to retire, but you will receive a Selective Reserve Retirement (As opposed to an active duty retirement). The difference is that you will not get as much money as an active duty retirement, and you have to wait until age 60 to begin collecting your retirement.

The rest of his question. Warrant officers/pending waivers may stay in the Guard thru their early 60's. Should you stay past 60 of course, no retirement pay until after your waiver expires and you are officially discharged.
