My father's step-father was in WWII and was apart of the Batan Death March and lost a finger.
My father's uncle was in the Marines during Korea and Vietnam where he was shot down and then he switched over to the Navy and got shot down yet again, he barely escaped with his life. He later worked with the CIA for about 15 years in the Eastern Bloc.
My father was a tank driver in the Army during the late 60s and early 70s.
My brother has been enlisted in the US Army for going on 11 years this month, he is a 88M. He's also a x3 OIF veteran (03, 04-05, and 06-07). He's been to the Middle East about 6 times I believe. Right now his unit is doing infantry/MP work in Iraq. He was never deployed in a combat zone previous to OIF I. Hm, he's thinking about becoming a recruiter after this enlistment period is up.
I have two cousins - one of them is in the US Navy and he's an E-5 (achieved it in a 1.5 years), his brother (also my cousin) is an Aviation Mechanic in the United States Marine Corps.
On my mother's side - we have family members who fought in WWII as well for the British.
I'm not giving out my brother's name because of OPSEC.

Both my brother and his wife graduated from West Point. Served their obligations as Intel and MP. My grandfather was a marine. My cousin is a marine. His sister, my cousin also, enlisted into the reserves, but injured herself before basic and was discharged. My ex (by paper, not in my heart-got divocred) nephew is in the army. As well as ex nephew a marine. My grandmother was in the army. She was on the crew that was the first group of women to have the job of re fueling aircraft on deployment. My father tried to enlist during the draft, but was declined because he is legally blind in one eye. My other grandfather served in the Canadian army. I have so much relation. There are others, but i'm not that close to them.

I may be getting 1st place on this one :D
My great uncle on my dads side retired as a post CSM of fort Carson after figting in WWII and the Korean war. He was up for CSM of the Army but they wanted him to move to DC and he turned it down. He is also known for shooting the first nuke out of arty. Awards unknown...
My dad ran secret op's in vietnam so secret that even today he is paranoid about someone wanting him dead even know he doesn't talk about it very often unless he has his best friend Jack Daniels over. He got 2 bronze stars and an air medal. He worked alone on 95% of his missions and his rank was classified so when he arrived where the action was units would think he was CID and would be intimidated by his presense. Even know 2 bronze stars is pretty d a m n good, if he would of been assigned to an actual unit, he would of saw larger awards like maybe a silver star. He was in Time Magazine I just recently saw for the first time in his Vietnam cache full of black and white dead body pictures...
My uncle on my moms side was in the US Navy for some time, but I do not know alot about that.

As far as I know..
I have an uncle in my father's side who served in Navy around 70-80's (I think my grandfather on my father's side went into military too but not US military) and currently,I have a cousin in my mother's side who is on Air Force,he is currently on middle east.
If I made it to ARNG(Which I'm thinking of joining when I turn 18),I'm going to be the first female in my family who served in military instead of going into medical school to be a nurse lol

I'll be the first female from my family to join as well. One of my uncles on my mom's side was in the Army until recently, my dad was in the Marines, and my dad's dad was in the Army Air Force (that's what my dad called it). >.> So, yeah. I'm the first in a lot of things in my family.

My mom's dad was in the Army Air Force, too. He was drafted right at the end of WWII, and spent his time teaching fighter pilots how to use that newfangled RADAR thing on their aircraft. On my dad's side, his father worked for the railroad, so he was exempt from service; but three of his uncles (mother's brothers) served in the Army. Other than me, that about rounds out my family's military history.

I was stationed on Okinawa when I was in the Navy. My dad's dad was stationed there during WWII. Probably sometime around the time your Grandfather secured the island. Or it was probably after he secured it.
It is something thinking about how I got to be stationed there, but it was people like our grandparents who did the real work back in their day that allows us to get cut orders there.

maternal grandfather was in the navy from 1956-62. He said most guys on his ship never saw anymore action than a bar fight. He insists to this day that he should have gotten some sort of medal for the number of bar fights he has been in lol.

I served from 85-86 in the Indiana NG during high school then served from 86-96 on Active Duty. 2nd ACR, Readiness Group Atlanta, US Army Medcom.
Wife served for 8 years, in Korea and Ft Sam Houston at BAMC as a Medic.
Brother was an MP for three years.
One cousin my age served for the same ten years I didn, 11B, Desert Storm, then went EoD. Another bunch of cousins a little younger served in the Navy and Air Force for 3-6 enlistments. One cousin is a Major who is a pilot in the Army, his father is a Brig General at the Pentagon.
Father was a Vietnam vet who did 13 years AD, was EoD. Served another 15 or so in the Indiana NG and retired last year as a CW4.
My mother's brother is a Marine Vietnam Vet. My mother, who loves tracing our family tree, has placed officers and enlisted of my family in every war this country has been involved in.
My oldest, who is 16, is playing football and doing everything he can prepare himself to become a Ranger, with a goal of going Special Forces.
I guess it's in the blood... :D

Hmm, let's see.
My dad went AWOL from ...what's that base in colorado springs? -oh, well, doesn't matter... back in the 80's.
My brother's been in Iraq nonstop for about 4 or 5 years. He can't get enough of the stuff. He came back on leave and married the first girl he could find to get the pay increase. Of course he didn't want to share it with her, though, so they just recently got divorced. He says the best part of the war is picking random people and blowing their heads off with a 50 cal. He described the experience to me in great detail (and against my will).
They both make me sick. I don't think that's the kind of thing anybody should be trying to live up to.
