I was just assigned to 950th Route Clearance Co. in a Manuever Enhancement Brigade as a combat engineer. Does anybody now what sort of duties units in this area preform?

No idea, but my buddy is in Afghanistan right now with a Route Clearance Platoon... nasty stuff. So good luck in the future.

You clear the way so that people and "stuff" can get from Point A to Point B.

We have a Sapper Company with that mission right now, they come home soon. Tough job, but needs to be done --

The MEB is all about Mobility. Clear roads, maintain roads, build roads. MPs patrol them, Engineers fix them, probably even some Civil Affairs units to do some contracting with the locals.

I'm a medic. I will be with engineers who will be doing route clearance. I hope I won't have to do my job...but I will.
