Hi, I was wondering if you can get a FULL TIME guard job after you get out of ait.... so I could stay active all the time? Thank you

Each state has full time positions available. You may need to apply for them, and it is not a guarantee. You may want to ask about working as ADSW (Active Duty for Special Work) with your Recruiter if there is money available for your state. This will give you some temporary full time work, and give you more time to apply for permanent AGR jobs.

Do you have to have bct and ait completed for the active special work? Or does it depend on the state/job. My situation: MEPs in November and then waiting ten months for bct. I can get 50+ (high 70's for sit/push ups) on the standards, but i'm a little older and want to be fully prepared for bct is my reasoning. RSP will greatly help me (would love to be in a leadership position at bct) as well as the extra endurance i'll gain in the aprox. year before bct. Recruiter has OK'ed it and knows I wont sign at MEPS unless the aprox ten months are granted before bct. After I complete bct/ait i'm looking for fulltime guard. Just hadnt heard of the active special work until now. There is currently a 21T slot open and if its taken by the week before MEPS i'm taking a 42A....at least that is the plan at this time.
