Tried to call my recruiter tonight for some info (had a prior-service Marine recruiter call and im wondering why, any ideas on this would be nice to, my wife is worried that im getting recalled).
Anyway I called him and his cell phone was disconnected. Should I go to the recruiters office or what?

Sure, get updated contact information from your recruiter. And a nice visit just shows you're still interested.
I wouldn't worry about the prior service Marine recruiter calling. I had that happen to me years ago and I even got a standard USMC letter from the SgtMaj of the USMC urging me to reenlist. I spoke to the prior service recruiter and was promised a promotion to Sergeant if I enlisted in the reserves. I turned him down.
If you were to get recalled, you'd be getting a different phone call from a different person...and you'd get a letter about it too. That's what happened to a co-worker of mine who was recalled to the Army.

Thats what I thought to, but it never hurts to be paranoid. A friend of mine is conviced I cannot be recalled since my IRR commitment is up but I swear Ive heard of people being recalled even after that.

Right now you can't. But yeah, rules could change....doubtful, but not impossible.

Without ANY remaining IRR time on your contract, you CANNOT be recalled. Your 8 year MSO is fullfilled. If you comback to the military, it will be ALL YOU bro. Thank you for your service.

I don't know how this worked...but my co-worker was on his last few months of IRR when he was recalled to the Army. However, he mentioned to me before this happened, that he was medically discharged due to a back injury from his Airborne training. This is how he ended up being discharged again once he was recalled. He had the option to "go home indefinitely" or "wait 3 months to see if his back condition improved enough for him to be considered deployable." He took the option to go home.
So...does that mean even though he was medically discharged, his IRR still applies? Or is there something wrong/missing with his story he gave me?

Update: Got a new recruiter, and its not a recall. She just wanted to know what the Marine Reserves could do for me if I decided to go that route.

Let us know which way you decide to go, Devil.
