I have questions on medical waivers.

Are medical waivers usually considered at the State level? Or, do they have to be submitted to the National Guard Bureau?

What are the documents usually required to submit a medical waiver for a prior service member who no longer has the disqualifying medical condition she had been discharged for when previously enlisted?

Thanks Much. :)

Waivers for State or NGB vary depending on the level of the disqualification. All medical documents, and a letter from your doctor saying that you are fully qualifed is a good place to start when trying to get a waiver. Your recruiter will do all of the paperwork to submit a waiver.

Most medical waivers required National Guard Bureau approval except pregnancy, parenthood, weight control failure and dependency which are considered at the state level. You may have been discharged due to different medical conditions than the listed above and will need to see a local recruiter for the specific documentation needed for the waiver.
