MOS for prior

What happens if your are not MOSQ for the guard. The guard in colorado does not have a unit for my prior mos of "EOD"? Any response is appreciated

I'm going through a similar situation right now as well. Since my prior USMC MOSes are extinct, I'm not MOSQed so therefore my contract for the guard was voided under the "try one". Currently my recruiters submitted an MOS waiver to Washington DC and we're waiting to hear back. But I've done some homework of my own to assist which might be of help to you in my thread under "MOS Qualification Restrictions".

So, I guess if I was in your shoes, I'd try to see if an MOS waiver would help you too? :)

Colorado does have an Air Guard EOD flight, if you want to stay EOD and stay in CO.

I'm a 19D Scout (prior Service) and we have no Cav units in my area. I was told by my recruiter I could go to an 11B MOSQ school in Southern California for 3 weeks and change my MOS. Are those days over?

Thank you for info. i tried to talk to them. they do not seem all that interested. infact the air guard recruiter told me that they do not need help recruiting for any thing now... any how. i found an SF unit willing to take me on. have to change mos but what the heck get to go to airborn school. that should be fun
