What kind of health coverage can you get?

You're fully covered at bootcamp. When you aren't active duty, you can enroll in TriCare Reserve Select. For a family I think the monthly charge is $180?

I'm doing a story on the Tricare Reserve Select health plan and trying to get traditional Guardmembers' reactions to it. If you have the plan now, have had it the past or are considering purchasing it, I would like to get your input. Please email me directly. Thanks.

How bout some input here so others can see? I've been curious myself...and have never seen anyone here that actually uses and says anything regarding it.

I have the Tricare Reserve Select or whatever it is and am happy with it thus far. Being single with no dependents it only costs me $40 a month so I can't complain about price either. The only time I used it was to get some x-rays done and it was cheap for the visit and x-rays and prescriptions only cost me $3 for generic and $6 for name brand.

I'd love to hear from someone who has a family w/ children and uses tricare, so I have some good arguments to use with the Mrs. besides the fact that tricare is cheaper than either of our employer's family plans.

Well, I like TRS. I have the family coverage. The premiums can't be beat. It has good ceverage and a prescription benefit. I haven't had any trouble finding in network providers. Of course, there is a Naval Air Station in town. The only thing I wish it had is the ability to pay via autodraft.

Edit: Oops. I had a letter sitting under a bunch of other stuff asking if i want to start drafting my payments. So, no complaints about my TRS coverage. I checked the claims from my daughter's birth. It was well north of $10k for an emergency section. I had to pay about $35.
