Chain of command. Talk to them. Not sure the likelihood, but you'd eventually have to anyway.

Also, look up a unit in your area that you'd be interested in. Talk to a recruiter there about the process and availability.

Airborne, you didnt mention how long your current active duty enlistment is for. When are you supposed to ETS? I believe you will be assigned to the 82nd for three years unless you transferred to another BCT and waived the lifecycle increasing your time with them. I suggest you find out who is the branch manager for 11Bs E-4s and below and talk to him if you trying to PCS and try to waive stabilization upon redeployment if possible.

Bonner,

Are you doing okay right now? Just sick of the life or is there something specific bothering you? Just making sure you are alright. Need to vent feel free to send a private message. You dont know me from a hole in the wall but sometimes it helps to just vent. Especially putting it into writing can make some issues that seem huge, more managable.

Wouldn't it be an honor to serve with the 82nd? The big AA.. I would ride out your current contract then re-enlist in the National Guard. You're doing your country a great service right now.

Ask your chain of command about an early release to join the ARNG. You'll need to make a formal request, and you might not get approval. For best results, have a coherent set of reasons why this move is in the best interests of the Army as well as yourself, and identify a unit near your hometown that has your MOS.

As far as i know but i have really no place to speask correctly. You must ETS first then enlist in the ARNG. I was told that once in the ARNG you may go to active but it is very hard to be released from active to ARNG.

Are you high?
How about some capitalization and punctuation? Nobody sells out 82nd.
