Most of them are at Fort Eustis Virginia. I recently went through there. The MOS's I remember off the top of my mind are: 15T, 15U, 15S, 15X, 15B, 15P, 15G, 15F, 15N. Thats all I can remember for now. Which MOS are you thinking about doing?

Ft Eustis is where AIT is held for most aviation. You will be assigned to one of the compannies in 1/222 avn. A-C Co's are for IET, D Co is for retreads (where i was)
Enjoy it, i know i did

yes , i would like to ask about the mos too: 15R, 15S, 15T , 15U 15V are all the MOS'es recruiter gave me to pick from as far as helicopter repairers goes. what is the difference between them, beside the AIT duration? maybe different types of helicopters takes longer to learn about them? any suggestions which to choose?
thanks.

15R. Because Apaches are the baddest machine the army owns.
I think that any Aviation MOS is a good mos. I wish that i would have enlisted into a 15 series MOS. At my current unit i know lots of 15 series and they all seem to love what they do. Most of them are Chinook since thats what we have to fly. Aviation units are Great units. If you want to work on Multiple airframes you may consider 15B. They are the engine guys but work on more then 1 specific type of aircraft.

lets see if i can remember them (they switched to 15 series right before i got out of active duty)
15r - Apaches
15d - OH-58'd Kiowa
15t - UH-60 Blackhawk
15U - CH-47 Chinook
15y - Apache armament and aavionics repair (excellent MOS)
some MOS's cover airframe, some cover farbrication, general avionics etc. I was a 15r (worked on D model apaches and a models and hated it) It wasnt my cup of tea but then again, Im a boonie rat. These are excellent MOS's and they can open the door to serious civilian opportunities.

Im a 15T Uh-60 repairer. Theres some difference between them Now 15R, 15S, 15T, 15U are all along the same type of work. Its general maintenance, inspections and trouble shooting. You can also be a crew chief in these MOS's. Now the other MOS's are more section specific. Like you only learn about the Engine, or Airframe, Avionics and such and thats the only thing you deal with. Now if you want to work on a variety of things all over the aircraft and touching on the engines or Rotors and what not. Go with the MOS's I mentioned above. As a 15T I work on Blackhawks. It to me is one of the greatest aviation MOS's. You can also crew the helicopter. One of the few MOS's you can actually do that in besides 15U. So pick wisely.

well said. I hated the fact that when we fixed the birds, thats all we did. I didnt feel right being called a "crew chief" when all i did was fix things. I had weighed the thought of going back aviation but tango or uniform, so we shal see.

Correct me if I am wrong, But if you are a Tango or Uniform aren't you eligible for flight pay?
