Hi guys, I have a question that has been nagging me for a while. I just read that I am not eligible to become a helo pilot because of my age. I am 29 now and will probably be around 30 when I enlist, I need to lose some weight.

OK two questions:
1) Is there an age waiver for pilots? Or would I still be too old to be considered?

2) How would I become a crew chief? I would really like to at least fly in a helicopter if I am not able to become a pilot. Would I start off as a repairer then work my way up? Also, if you are a repairer, do you get to ride in the helos at all or is it a grounded MOS?

Any info would be greatly appreicated. I would love to be a door gunner or something of that nature. I know these are elementary questions but I have looked around and cannot find any info on any other sites.

Again, any info and help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and God bless,
CorporateMike.:D

try for an age waiver i am at Rucker right now in IERW and there are at least 4 guys older than 32 in my class. if you want it bad enough and you don't need to many waivers you have a good chance. you might as well try
