Its pretty sad to ask this but, a few years ago, I got fired from an old job for a theft of $18 Shirt. As I was asked to leave the store, I paid the LP officer for the shirt, Since I left the store, I never heard a word about it. Nothing ever about the police or anything. No court dates, Never had any contact with them. Would this even be on my record? If so would it prevent me from joining? I go to MEPS Tuesday. So wondering if it would come up. My recruiter had said if hey didnt fingerprint me then it wouldnt even come up on my record. And all my previous tickets have been paid, Only tickets ive ever gotten was just no insurance tickets but they are paid off. Thanks in advance

Thanks thats a big relief. Previously from having my no insurance tickets I had a warrent, got arrested but was only in jail for like 20 minutes then I had my tickets paid on the spot so I was released. Would this prevent me? since then I havent got any tickets.

also the reason for your firing doesnt have to be disclosed. employers are just required to give the dates of your employment. start being a role model.

It may come up in your Security Clearance interview when they ask you about employment. They will ask you why you got fired, and you probably should tell them the truth. If it isn't on your record, then I doubt it should be mentioned in your packet minus your employment records.

Not true here in Alabama I was stopped 8 years ago and they found weed in the truck I was riding in.They didn't arrest or ticket anyone (they actually let us go). Then last year I was put in jail for an old warrant that I knew nothing about.I was put in jail and had to get a lawyer and go to court over it and everything. In the end it stopped me from getting the MP slot that I had orginally wanted. After court the charges were dismissed.
But,that was just here in Bama' around this area the cops can be a little whacked out.It probably won't but anythings possible.

Any body can check the public records on line and find out what they have been charged with.
