Hello!
I just came across this forum and had no idea that the Guard had this nifty forum handy. I am a 32 year old married mom of two kiddos, ages 6 and 2.5 and I also take care of my mom. I was in the National Guard for four years before I decided to ETS out in October of 99 when I became pregnant with my son and my parents divorced. It has since been a regret of mine. My husband seems to think that re-enlisting is not a good idea because of deployment issues. He is a truck driver and I stay home with the kiddos and my mother.
My MOS was a 75B, although I believe this MOS has been combined/or added to. I was in the process of getting my paperwork together and setting an appt with MEPS in February of last year, but got sidetracked when my mother became ill again. Since I have am MOS established, would I have to go back through Basic Training? I have been told yes and no. I have always had a desire to stay in the Guard and try for an AGR job, or go full-time active duty and hope to make Fort Jackson a duty station. :)
