so being in the NG, are we eligible for the post 911 bill? or just the MGB Reserve and REAP? Ive always been a little confused about all this so I may as well get really familiar with it before I sign on the dotted line. I also have student loans to, so im guessing i would be able to get the slrp also. So from what im reading do you need to be active duty to get the post 911, or just have 90 days of service? and what would 90 days be classified as? do basic and ait count? probably questions for my recruiter, but im giving him a break for atleast 2 weeks to let my waivers take their course.

BCT and AIT do not count towards the 90 days. And any one who serves after 9/11/01 and has the 90 days is eligible. I mediting it to add that the 90 days would be counted as days served not in BCT or AIT. Such as drill weekends, disaster relief, or a comabt deployment.

Not entirely correct.

To receive the MINIMUM benefits of 40%, you must have at least 90 days total cumulative active duty service. Initial Entry Training does not qualify. State call-ups do not qualify. Training schools do not qualify. Only federal activations qualify.

To receive the maximum benefits of 100%, you must have at least 30 continuous days of federal active duty service.

I appreciate people putting up the newest information, but I caution everyone not to read to much into this. I am currently assisting in rewriting some of the education policies with folks from NGB, and I know that the Chapter 33 benefits are being reworked on a daily basis.

This is NOT the final implementation instructions for this program. It is HIGHLY LIKELY that this will change in some way...
