To start off, the good:

1. Well motivated.
2. High School Diploma.
3. 90+ College Hours, current major in Computer Science
4. JROTC Army High School 4 yrs (Class 03).
5. Good physical health, if a bit out of shape. But I would be willing to get into perfect shape before enlisting.
6. I'd be willing to enlist in one of the "critical" high demand MOSs if it would help my chances. I was thinking 13B Cannon Crewmember.

The bad:

1. I had problems with depression 5 years ago (when I was 16). I see a shrink every 5 months for medication checks. I have no problem being around firearms and own 2 myself. I would be happy to elaborate more in private.

2. I'm flat footed.

Please let me know if I have a chance at being eligible to enlist in the army national guard, or if I would just be wasting the recruters time.

You will require a medical waiver and a phych consult. You need to get a letter from your doctor saying that you no longer have issues and are not taking medication anymore. Even then, it is up to the doctor at MEPS to make that call. Talking to a recruiter in person about the nature of your diagnosis may give you more insite on if you are disqualified or not.

Flat feet won't keep you out of the National Guard as per our current medical policy.
