I have some questions regarding prior service reenlistments.
I was discharged from the ARNG with transfer to the IRR (control group reinforcement) back in 2000 due to a normal ETS.
The NGB form 22 issued to me has an re-code of 1.
After I was discharged from the ARNG I gained a lot of weight due to my stressful job this caused my blood pressure to be elevated.
In 2002 while in the IRR I was ordered to undergo a periodic physical exam. I was declared medically disqualified due to the elevated high blood pressure(AR 40-501).
I was given the options of choosing a non duty related PEB for further evaluation or electing to be discharged from the IRR.
I chose to be discharged from the IRR. I was discharged per army regulation AR 135-178 chapter 15-1 k (Medically unfit for retention).
Upon discharge I was issued format 500 discharge orders and a DD 256A (Honorable discharge certificate). Nowhere on the orders of DD 256A does it list an RE code.
I am now physically fit and slim. As a result of my weight loss my blood pressure is now perfectly normal.
How would I need to go about re-enlisting in the ARNG?
Would there need to be any waivers?
Please explain the hypothetical processes so I know what to expect.
I look forward to your reply.
