I am trying to find out if the National Guard is still offering their REP-63 enlistment contract. I can't seem to find any solid information whether if it is still in place or not. I have talked with two different recruiters and they both didn't seem to know what REP-63 is or was, or gave me a run around regarding questions about it.

Okay, this is the option that I'd heard about, but thought didn't exist. The Rep 63 Program is where a person practically off the street can enter the NG, go to BCT, AIT, Airborne, PLDC, and then on to the SFAS and, theoretically, the Q Course. When they come back, they're in a NG SF unit.

I believe that program doesnt exists anymore. They are no longer recruiting directly for SF due to many dropouts/failures. You have to apply after you been a soldier in a different MOS.

I've never heard of the REP 63 program mentioned above, that must have been waaaay before my time. But prior to the creation of the RSP program, all new enlistments who had not been to IET were considered "REP 63s", the forerunner to the RSP was the RHC (Recruit Holding Company), and the forerunner to that was the REP 63 Program.

They have the 18X MOS now, which is basically the same thing. Any joe off the street can enlist as it. They go to OSUT, Airborne, SFAS and Q course as a regular joe off the street. Pretty sure NG has it too.

Thats def gonna depend on whether or not you have a SF unit in your state

I talked to 19th SFG out of Colorado, and they have people drive from all over the US. They will take soliders from any state, as long as you're willing to communte. They have a thing called the REC (Readiness Enhancement Company). After you transfer in to 5/19th, you will be put into this. They basically prepare and test your for selection. You have to interview with them, take a PT test for them and have a GT score of 110 to get a paragraph and line number. After you are in the REC, they will send you to SFAS when you're ready. I persured it in July (only a 106 GT), so some things might have changed since then.

yes...the states that have these units usually do have people from other states travel to them. But, you still have to be a member of that states NG.

Thanks for all the replies. I was able to find some information on other sites and forums, but most of it is dated so I have no idea how accurate the info is. I also talked with some recruiters again and they still offered no new information.

It seems the National Guard offers their version of the 18X enlistment contract, which is where somebody right off the street gets the opportunity to try out for Special Forces following BCT, AIT, Airborne, etc. I can't find if this is true in states that do not have SF units in them.

As was mentioned earlier you have the opportunity to commute/transfer and try out with a SF unit after being in the NG from other states that do not have a SF unit, and many do.

Are my findings accurate and up to date???

One of my buddies wanted to go SF but we dont have it in our state. They do however have it in the state next to us. In order to get into the SF unit he had to interstate transfer into a NC unit and then apply for the SF unit. all the while he still lived in my state, but he did have to be a member of the other states NG.

The state I am currently living in (Kansas) doesn't have a SF unit, I know that I could join the Kansas NG and seek out an interstate transfer after being in the Guard for a while.

I am wondering if it is possible to enlist off the street with a REP-63 thru Kansas?? Or would I have to enlist with either the Texas or Colorado NG to receive a REP-63 enlistment contract right off the bat??

1st off...there is no more REP 63. Now...you have to be a member of the states NG in order to try to go SF. So yes...you would either have to join in a state that has SF or you would have to IST at a later date.
