View Full Version : MEPS after medical waiver approval...

A few weeks ago, I made it through the entire series of medical tests (blood pressure, hearing, eyesight, urinalysis, blood work, weight, ortho, etc.) and was DQ'ed for a perforated eardrum (which I didn't have and proved it after some documentation from my civilian ENT doctor). Waiver approved.

When I go back to MEPS later this week, do I have to go through the entire medical process again? Or do I just need to have the doctor sign off and send me along my way to security clearance, job selection, etc.?

You don't have to repeat the full physical again.

What would have to be repeated though?

Urinalysis and weight, I imagine.

Thanks. Hopefully, I'm still as tall as I was in December.

No urinalysis.

Probably won't even do height/weight again if you passed the first time, though a recruiter might know better.

Probably more like checking in, having your waiver checked, get signed off on, then spend half your day waiting around until they send you back to have your process stuff done and fingerprints taken, then sit around again for a long time until your contract is ready and sign everything, then sit around again for a long time until you get called up for a swearing in ceremony.

Lol.I was on the phone to Eric whilst He was shouting at someone about your waiver. I guess He thought He'd hung up or whatever but it was hilarious. We have the best recruiter ever.

Yeahhh lots of waiting. My roommate I had at the hotel had to wait around from 5am until 1 to take her IQ test for her MOS. Then from 2 until 415 to be sworn in. And hope the fingerprints guy isn't a freak like the guy I had was. He creeped me out, a lot. But no you should not have to do anything except be signed off on and wait wait wait.

Whoever did my fingerprints was an angry, older man. He kept asking me why I don't understand simple instructions and can't make my fist look like his. Kept thinking to myself, keep your mouth shut, your fist looks exactly like his, he'll figure it out sooner or later.

Must have taken nearly 30 minutes to take my fingerprints, and basically re-take all of them again because he said I was terrible at fingerprinting and all of the fingerprints turned out bad.

Figured he's either always like that or was just tired. Either way, not a nice guy. Glad that process is done with.

Was he a tall old guy with a gut? May have been the same guy and maybe when I got him he was on medication haha. He was a weirdo. It took more than 30 minutes to do the fingerprints because he said he could do better. And he held my hand the ENTIRE time and talked to me about my personal life and stuff. He really ooged me out. My recruiter says he's my future husband. I think the fingerprinting was the worst part of the whole day.

Hah, yeah, I think we had the same guy. I guess the problem is I'm a guy so he just wasn't that "into" me? :)

LOL

I am one inch shorter today than I was one month ago! HAHA.

To answer my original question, all I did was take height/weight and have a quick consult with doctor (i.e., any recent injuries, tattoos, etc.).
