i havent talked to my rec. since the begining of dec. when i do call him he tells me he is gone for another week and when i call him in a week he is gone for another week, im trying as hard as i can to join if he gives up that will be the second rec. that gave up on me, now im thinking it might not be worth the trouble of being dragged around

It depends. Do you have medical or legal issues? Have you taken the ASVAB? Are you clearly out of standards, i.e. overweight, obscene tattoo on your forehead? Did you show up in an orange jumpsuit with your parole officer? Are you pregnant? There are a ton more, but I can't list them all....:D

If you have none of those issues, then make a trip down to the recruiting station nearest you. If you do have issues, then, it's a possibility that you have a recruiter that thinks you'll get disqualified, and therefore not worth their time. If that was the case, I hope he would at least let you know that.

Best of luck to you.

What issues do you have that is making it so you cant enlist? or enlist without any waivers?

It might just be the recruiter, but...if youve gone through 2, that might be a good sign that its not the recruiter.

You could always find a 3rd, if he bails on you too, well....then i dont know.

It may be he is on leave?

I have never gave up on a recruit unless you can not enlist due to health, law,or the baby momma.

Then I would tell you "Do you know anyone that wants to join the Guard???"

What about when they throw a brick through your window with a phone number written on it in red lipstick? Should I be concerned that my recruiter is a little TOO into me?

LOL, you're so crazy....:D

Bherns- so just the weight issue then? Just keep trying. If you've already been to MEPS, and you are losing the weight, then they already have a vested interest in you.

Dude, if you know when you are going back to meps what are you worried about? Stay on your diet, get a little better at spelling, and then go to meps and read your contract before you sign it.

You will be fine, It's your fault with the weight issue not the recruiters, but once you lose the weight you should have no problem. If you dont think you can handle getting the run around from a recruiter, what makes you feel prepared to be a soldier? Remember, its the squeaky wheel that gets the grease, keep calling back and eventually he will give you a call.

If you have a date set, what more do you need? Are there issues that need to be solved? Questions you need answered? Otherwise i wouldn't worry too much about it. Call him the week before your date and then go to meps, weigh in and sign up. Its too easy. Have you already taken the Asvab?

Then prove it. Quit dicking around and lose the weight. The faster you want in, the faster youll lose it. Your weight is no one else's responsibility but your own.

Also, dont keep calling him unless youre 100% ready to go in all areas. Until you lose that weight, youre not qualified and basically wasting your breathe by calling him. He is a busy man I am sure and has plenty of work to get done.

Not trying to sound rude or demeaning, but its your responsibility.

hey he told me to keep callin him lol im just doin what he told me to do lol

Are you calling him just to call him and say "What's up?" Or are you calling him because you need something specific? You got DQ'd because of weight. You're losing weight. You have a second date set for your weigh-in. You have an MOS selection. What else do you need?

Recruiters are busy. Sometimes they have to go to training classes, go visit high schools, meet OTHER recruits.

yea but with him plans change all of the time, he is one of the top rec. in Indiana so he is always busy, he moved my meps date atleast 4 time so i call to check in and see if anything has changed, and ask him some more questions i have for him, im not just callin him to bother him and just say whats up, i always have a reason to call him

Don't you get a 2 for writing your name correctly?

My guess is that your recruiter would like you to be under the weight limit not right at the limit. My advice to you would be to stop calling the recruiter and get into shape 100%. Your date to go to MEPS might have been moved due to the fact that in his eyes he just may think your not ready. I dont know for sure and im on the outside looking in. So just relax the Army is not going anywhere.

On another note: The soldier that said to learn how to spell was not making fun of you. He was helping you with things like crossing your T's and dotting your I's. Also capitalization after you start another sentence. Nobody is here to make fun of you we are all here to help you out. Just go all in 110% my friend and you will get in.

Good Luck!

I think I'm more of the annoying recruit. I text my recruiter a question at least a day, (it is for specifics, and I'm about to sign, mind you!) but then I called and said to hold off my paperwork... I'm looking into the Air Guard now. I cant be the first though, right?

Honesty stop calling your recruiter. For one if you went to MEPS and were overweight you have a time restriction on how soon you can go to meps. 20 pounds in a month is a little much for any recruiter to believe you are goin to lose.

If you failed hieght and weight that much you will have some time before you can go to MEPs.

And second more questions? how many times are you goin to call with more questions? It sure seems to me your calling him more than once a week.

Now im a different kind of recruiter and I put up with that stuff. But some will not.

If the recruiter is not lying to you or screwing you over leave him alone to do his job. You are one of at least 10 people he is working. And recruiters will always prioritize the ones that can join over the ones that cannot.

You right now cannot.

Go look at the Air Guard. But dont act like it isnt a screwed up thing to do all that work with one person for him to invest all that time and effort and answer all your questions just for you to be " o hold off on my paperwork im thinking about the air guard now"

yeah I do feel bad about it. I almost didn't want to tell him I was looking at something else but to me it was better then him actually getting my paperwork done then me going, oh by the way...
