Okay so,
I am prior service (i think majority of everyone here knows that), over 180 days in service, non MOSQ.
I am being told by my new recruiter that I am not eligible for a Bonus and that I will be put into an AIT with fresh recruiters (IET training) and that I wont be considered or housed with prior service during AIT.
Just checking to see if this is correct? I dont think the recruiter has dealt with PS over 180days non MOSQ before.

I'm not even sure how you would be even classified "prior service", when you never actually served as a graduated MOSQd soldier.
Pretty sure you answered your own question.

Anyone over 180days is considered prior service. There is glossary prior service and non glossary prior service.
Each one is handled differently when enlisting.

sure, like disenrolling from a service academy after a year, or getting hurt at basic & taking that long to graduate, then being discharged for not shipping to AIT within a year because of an injury... whatever.
Point is for recruiting purposes you are classified as prior service. For TRADOC purposes, you have not yet completed IET & become MOSQ, so you are grouped with non prior service. The PS soldiers that are housed seperate & all that are MOSQ soldiers that are reclassing to a new MOS. They've already been thru the AIT process with rules, restrictions, drill sgts. They already are soldiers, where you are a "warrior" still training to fully become a soldier.
Does that make sense?

Yeah definitely, Sir.
I understand, I was just trying to find out for sure, because Ive heard several different stories about it so I wanted to find out for sure.
Regardless, I am still joining no matter what...just wanted to know what to expect, ya know? ;).
I was 6months into my AIT when I got out. So close to MOSQ. HAHA. stuff happens though.

Cucumber, Instead of saying that you are prior service, just say that you were a non-hacker the first time around but now grew cojones. :)
Its like the 180 days in combat vet lol QComer we just joshing you. You made it passed IET so you considered prior service for enlistment purposes. But when you say prior service to servicemen/vets on the website, they will think first that you did a 2 to 4 year hitch and received an Honorable discharge. You are a salty dog!! ;) Wait to 7011USMC sees this thread. He is going to be sarcastic so have patience lol
Anyway, when I came back on active duty and reclassed as an MP, I was separated from the AIT students. Depending on your AIT start date, you can be "real" prior service and still be "inserts" to an AIT class and live in their barracks but you will have your own rules to guide you. You will be treated different. But I was with all combat vets, E-4s (One E-3) to E-6s but we had drill sergeants just for accountability purposes. Also they did PT with us and handled all our admin biz. I remember when I arrived at reception at Fort LeonardWood. The in-processor asked if I was prior service. I said yes and he was like "go sit there and relax" lol. I just drove a TMP vehicle taking sick bunnies and PT holdovers to the hospital. It was a skate time. Dont sweat it ok. I had to revert to the beginning more than once (when I transferred to the Marines as a Private) so just take it with a grain of salt. You will be in again and that is what counts. Melanieisawesome and yourself are in the same boat as many others before you. Focus on other things.
Did the Shrink bless off your paperwork yet?

Haha, I will say No combat....YET. I am not out to deceive people. Thank you to all of our troops that are out there doing the dang thing though.
No, still havent gotten ahold of the money for the eval ($500). California Captain is helping me find someone still, but then a local recruiter has also offered to "help" me get the psych eval if I want him to.

Perhaps California Captain can provide the tender :) He is going to make 2Gs afterwards so you are a good investment. Why did you put help in quotation marks. Sounds like a back door deal going on here.

D-am-n am I that transparent Chief? I like to keep things in perspective. Nothing wrong with a little corrective criticism or negative reinforcement. Qcomer just **** it up this time around you'll be fine. Like the Mr. Q said "you've grown some co'jones" so this time around don't choke on it:D. Furthermore, like the wise field grade officer says on this site as well...."You gotta want it like a fat kid wants cake"! Good luck trooper.
