Before re-classifacation I talked to my unit representative who stated it is possible to get the 15K bonus and the Student Loan Repayment Program on the same enlistment if you enlist for a period of six years. My re-enlistment date is quickly approaching and any further information regarding this would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm sorry if this reaches you too late. YES, you can get both of them during the same enlistment! However, if you already extended and just got the bonus, don't despair. You can still get the SLRP! If you would have ETSed 3 months ago, you'll have to extend by 3 months to give you 6 years from today and you can then become eligible for the SLRP. Some things to consider though...this is a ONE TIME THING! Only use it if you have around the maximum $20,000 in loans unless you're already out of school and won't be going back...they you may as well use it. The other thing that this may affect.......at this time you can get the extension bonuses up to 20 years of service. That means if you have 20 years of service, you can still extend for 3 years and get the $7,500. However, if you have 20 years and 3 months of service, you can't. If people tell you this isn't true, let me know and i'll tell you exactly what paragraph to look at in the 600-200. Hope this helps!
