View Full Version : Why am I still getting LES's?

Hello everyone,

I was discharged in June, but I continue to get an LES in the mail every month. Each one mentions a debt payment that I owe for that month for not being there.

Is this a normal glitch in the system or should I call my former RSP unit and inquire about it?

Were you discharged while in RSP and never going back? If you owe the government money, you will get those until they are paid, or it goes to collection....Uncle Sugar hates being owed money...

I'm not sure I understand the question. Yes, I was discharged while in RSP, but I didn't owe any debt payments when I left. The LES states that I've incurred life insurance debt for every month since my discharge. How can that be if I'm no longer in the National Guard?

It might have something to do if you signed up for Tri-care, which I believe is still good for up to 6? months after you are discharged.

Small possibility.

Jesus, its not like you getting money in your bank account since you no longer in the guard, so dont sweat it. I still had LES coming from the Guard before I went active. It happens. Again, if you have any questions, call your unit. But RSP? You were discharged out of RSP? Does that mean you didnt attend BCT?

Your first step should have been to call about the issue...instead of posting on the net about it.

Its your money for crying out loud.

Not that it has anything to do with the topic at hand, but yes, I did graduate BCT.

I have called since I posted this and I haven't been able to get in touch with the right person, as I figured would be the case. I'm going to keep trying, but in the meantime, I simply wanted to know if this is a normal occurance for others. Forgive me for asking a simple question. Gee.

Jesus, if anything, take a drive if you can to the unit and square this away. Or call up the STARC - State Area Command.
