So, I haven't been on here in over a week 'cause my hubby moved for school and took the dang computer. I just got a laptop, so here I am. Let me give a little update...
My recruiter found me a open spot for the job I wanted (92Y) so Friday night I went and stayed at the hotel. I was nervous as **** after my recruiter explained how the people @MEPS try to DQ you. So I was quite stressed. Anyway, got some good sleep surprisingly and woke up at 3:15 to get myself ready. I was surprisingly calm when I woke up, but that only lasted so long.
Got to MEPS (there were 5 of us girls out of the 40-some people) and went through the motions. Listened very carefully so I wouldn't mess something up and **** anyone off. Did our physical and tests and all that.... and was actually not 'interrigated' (sp?) like I was told to expect. Passed everything and my family was there to watch me swear in. I was still nervous for some reason, I think it was just the enormity of the decision I was making, but my recruiter said my hand was shaking while taking the oath. hehe.... but when I walked out of MEPS... what a relief. I was so glad that part of it was over and now I'm in!!
I go to Ft. Jackson on November 19, 2008 for Basic as an E3, so I better get my *** in shape!! I am so excited!! I'm not excited to be away from my husband and family for some 17 weeks, but I know I can do it. I listen to directions, do what I'm told and don't give up.
That's it for now, I am so PROUD to be doing this. I know I have a huge challenge in front of me, but I love challenges. Let me also say that I had a wonderful recruiter. He answered every question and helped me so much. Also when my family was there for over 3 hours on Saturday he sat with them and talked, answered questions and gave them his card so they can call him anytime. I know that's his job, but I and my family appreciate it.
Thanks for the motivation from everyone on here. Whether you realize it or not, it helps so much.
