I have been reading about BAH and the different types of it and talked with some cadre/my recruiter but I cannot seem to get a definite answer. When I ship to OSUT, will I be eligible for any type of BAH? I do have a rental agreement signed by myself and the land lord and it is notarized etc...
My recrutier says yes I will get BAH, one of the RSP cadre says no I am not eligible for it because I don't have dependents, another says yes, but only partial.

you will be on title 10 active duty and since you will be gone for longer than 30 days; yes you entitled. I tried to find a resource for you but this is the best I can right now. Tomorrow I am going to base finance and I can ask the finance person for clarification on it if you like.

Thanks for the help Sir! It's okay, I will find out soon enough I suppose. I will just make sure to bring my rent agreement with me to BCT.

Joint Forces Travel Regulation Volume 1 Chapter 10 Covers BAH, and yes the newest update (I believe) is that while single with a rental agreement you can receive BAH while in an IET status.

What would the rental agreement be useful for? Why would they do it any other way other than by zipcode? I've never had to bring one.
(Not sure of your zip, but New Orleans is $852 a month without dependents)

The agreement would be useful just to prove that I do pay rent. Don't you need one for BAH?

They've always gone by my home address on file. If you pay less rent than what BAH you're entitled to...why would you bother?
