From what I understand the reclassification to 11b in the guard is a 2 week course. How can you be blue in two? Has anyone here done this? If so please let me know what all you did and the pace. Thanks. OUT!!!

turning blue in two...you CAN take a two week re-class course and be designated as Infantry after you reclass...however, can you REALLY be considered "Infantry" after shooting and doing a couple patrols in two weeks? That remains to be seen.
We've had a few 19D's do this course, and they come back as 11B's.

Thats my point. Just because it says that I have completed the "appropriate" training i will be an infantryman. In my eyes does not constitute earning the title. Is there anyway to convince the guard bureau to let me do the appropriate, proper 11b coarse at Benning?? What would happen if I go back active. I know all they are going to see is that I completed the 11b training. Now take it I was in OIF I with the 101st, have done patrols, called for fire and had more than I care happen to me happen, seen my buddies bleeding and lost a good warrent officer friend in a flight crash. But still. I have never asked for anything handed to me. I have always earned it.

PFC, you will become MOSQed and that is what counts. Your ERB and acroutments on your uniform wont say 2 week infantryman. Take it as it comes and then have the high speed NCOs teach you the things that infantrymen need in order to win the fight. Hey as a former screaming eagle, I know the band of brothers pride. This is how some schools are done in the Guard. Take all that experience, combat and active, harness it and continue to excel.
Until the next RENDEVOUS WITH DESTINY
Hooah?

HOAH chief. The reason I would rather go to Bennig is that I am an e-4 and am looking to make my 5 soon. What could be worse than an E-5 not 100% knowing his mission, Job, troops. Roger..FYI the pfc name is a long story. Kind of an inside joke between myself and my grandfather who was a fullbird....

We had a 92Romeo re-class into our cycle at week 4. So he had 5 weeks of basic. And 4 weeks of AIT left. If your prior service dont you do the WLC? Isnt that 4 weeks?? Someone correct me if im wrong.

I am not doing WLC. I was told that was for AD. ALso with 10 years service I can see they dont want to spend more than they have to and leave it up to the unit. Oh wait I was thing WTC. Is WLC the new PLDC?

Good point but even the full length of the school is not going to give you the tools what you need. You will have WLC, BNCOC infantry proponent to add to your base. Hey, I been through that route as reclassing as an MP and then going to the 101st and not being air assault and leading soldiers that were. I just drove on and completed the schools and read FMs and ARs out of the wazzo on my own time as well as correspondence. Dont stress it and dont make a mountain of a mole hill.

I know about cav country and ruck marching/pt by the little bird. But you should be real proficient in weapons systems since you did it on a full time basis so again, you will succeed. Have you drilled with your unit yet?

Just swore in tonight. Gotta give thanks to SPC.SKi. I have drilled with the unit before, Back between 95-99 before I went active. I have to do the Transfer to the guard, what ever they call it now, in OCT. Hopefully I can do that one weekend and drill with my unit on their drill weekend. Hummm, I wonder if I should bring my own weapon. NAAAA
