I talked with a recruiter the other day and was informed that I had to have 46 college hours to get E3 in my contract. I'm wanting to do counter-intelligence. Can anyone give me some advise/ help in how I can get the E3 rank in my contract?? I only have 30 college hours. I did attend a computer learning center and recieved several certifications of completion, but i don't think they would count that. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It goes by Credits not hours

Also, I think if you refer a certain # of people to sign up that can also help in advance rank.

If you dont' have enough college credits to get your E-3, then the only other way is to referr two people that enlist in the National Guard before you leave for Basic Training. Have you ever done JROTC in High School? If you have three years of JROTC, you can enlist in the Guard as an E-3. Other than that, you'll just have to earn your rank like everyone else. It doesn't take long, and the difference between E-2 and E-3 is not that big. Good Luck.

This isnt in a contract yet, however I was told I could get E-3 with 37 credits. I kinda think it depends on the need and slots available and also what state/area you live in. Also, if you sign, and have it in your contract to wait the longest period of time you can for BCT (360 days...give or take a few) you could go to a Tech school and take a few more credits in that year before you ship. I'm in a situation where I cannot get my transcrips until I finish six credits. I defaulted on a grant so they are holding my transcripts hostage. So my recruiter said I can have that year to obtain the six credits and i'll be E-3 by BCT. Likely you have a full time job and many other obligations, but I bet with tons of hard work and dedication a few classes could be possible.
